Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i only get my periods 1 or 2 times a year and want to get pregnant. how do i know when i m ovulating and is it going to be hard to get pregnant? I also don t ahve the left ovary or fallopian tubes. its just the parts on the right side that are still there.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Getting menstrual cycle once or twice a year is very unusual and could be associated with some serious underlying disorder. Kindly get your hormones FSH, LH, Prolactin and Thyroid Profile checked. Also you need to undergo Karyotyping and genetic counseling for chromosomal anomalies. In case there is no problem with the above tests, it would be better to go for assisted reproduction using techniques like Invitro Fertilization (IVF). Kindly consult an Infertility Specialist in this regard for proper evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
