I m 56 years old and I have my period two weeks ago and now it s back 14 days later and I m feeling weak i ve been going through flashes were about 10 years I have no appetite wondering if this is menopause related. Also, this yes this is the first time that I ve had back to back periods Since I was 16 years old.
Hello. Yes, your symptoms do seem to be menopause related. Irregular menstruation does happen during the premenopausal period. If there is bleeding after a period of no bleeding for about 6-12 months, then we need to be worried. However, if the bleeding is too much and you have started feeling weak due to the blood loss and your hemoglobin has dropped significantly, then you need see your gynecologist who may suggest a course of hormonal pills, and if they fail - surgery. You also need to be on the iron supplements if the bleeding has brought down your hemoglobin a lot. Hope this helps. Regards, Dr Geeta
