Suggest Treatment For Irregular Periods And PCOS

Hi Dr, my periods are irregular and later found it to be due to PCOS. Initially, doctor has suggested me to take duphaston if I don t get periods after 35 days and if the urine pregnancy test is negative. This continued for almost 9 months but there is no regularization of periods or pregnancy in spite of doing regular exercise and walking . So, we thought of starting the treatment with siphene 100mg tablet , followed by follicular scan. I have taken the tablet from 2nd to 7th day of my period and started follicular scan from 9th day . Now it is 20th day , but there is no egg released yet, endometrium lining has grown up to 11mm thickness . Could you please help us know if this is something common with PCOS and what is the next procedure to be followed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As you have already taken treatment on 2nd and 7th day, I would recommend you to take regular birth control pills for 3 months. also take antidiabetic drugs for preventing effects of high sugar and for cholesterol control also take statin. If pcos persists consult endocrinologist for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Nirav Nimavat
