hello, I m aged 29. I always had PMS symptoms like severe mood swings, so I consulted an Ayurvedic doctor and I was given Menosan tablet(I found out later that it is given to moderate menopause symtoms) and an stress buster tablet named Medhyn. I took them for 45 days and stopped them since i observed severe hair fall.I have never take any birth control pills. Its been 4 months that i stopped those tablets.Since then, my menstrual cycles have become irregular. The periods were delayed by 8 days and 14 days for 2 months. But now its been 2 months that i have got my periods. Earlier my periods were regular at 30 days. We moved to a different state last month and was little stressful. Should I get checked with doctor ? hoping for a suggestion. thank you
You need proper evaluation with gynecologist for irregular cycles. Sometimes, stress and weight gain also cause delay in periods. Ultrasound has to be done to look for PCOS, adenomyosis, endometrium layer thickness followed by blood tests for serum LH, FSH and androstenedione followed by treatment with lifestyle modifications like regular exercise healthy diet and OCP for regularization of menstrual cycle.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prasanna Lakshmi, Pediatrician
