Suggest Treatment For Irregular Periods

I have my irregular periods. I wil have contionus 3months periods and then 1month wil skip it is been followed the same way ,so my doc have consulted this regestrone 5mg tablet so may I know the reason for it. Can u suggest me what should I have to do??
