Suggest Treatment For Irritation On The Tip Of The Tongue
Hi, So I had gotten a inflamed taste bud that was irritating the tip of my tounge, so in conclusion I cut off the taste bud as I have done before. But the numbing has stayed in the tip of my tounge. I do consume chewing tobacco but at my last oral exam everything was right in line. Is there a reason for this numbing to stay, also the taste bud and the others that were clipped near are back but have a more white color.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
It looks like numbness of the tongue tip after cutting off the taste buds seems to be due to damage to the terminal nerve endings caused due to improper practice of cutting off the taste buds..
The sensation can recover gradually as the nerve fibres will repair and regenerate .
As of now you can start doing alternate warm and cool compresses over the tongue tip.. You can start taking Vitamin B complex supplements.. You should also completely avoid any traumatic activity that if goes wrong cause severe injuries to soft tissues and infection.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
