Suggest Treatment For Itching And Irritation In The Penis
Hello doc, sorry for this type of question. I m experiencing some itching and irritation on my penis. I ve been on a lot of meds here lately and have not been sexually active for several months do to a back injury and pain meds. Could this be a yeast infection?
Hello there I have read through your question and understand your concern. It seems you are suffering from Balanitis which is inflammation of the head of the penis mostly due to friction. It may or may not be associated with infection. A physical examination and STD testing will help to reach a diagnosis and further course of action. Meanwhile you should avoid any friction in the affected area. Wear lose cotton undergarments. Avoid any sexual encounter till your problem is solved. You can apply an over the counter cream containing Miconazole and corticosteroid for soothing of irritation. But first you should consult a skin specialist before applying anything. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
