Suggest Treatment For Itching In Mons Pubis Area During Hair Growth
I have a question. I haven t had intercourse in about 3 weeks. I was using VEET and NAIR to remove the hair from my MONS PUBIS. Now, I don t have a odor nor have I been discharging. I did have a UTI and I have been donating PLASMA, nothing negative has came back. Like a week ago, I had some hair bumps because my hair is growing back. It was itchy. I scratched the skin off. But I haven t been scratching it. They have a little node but they don t hurt. Now I have another hair bump but it s not itchy. I know I wasn t suppose to use those two methods to remove hair. Can you give me a little theory until my doctor appointment?
Your symptoms are suggestive of allergy to hair removal cream and subsequent scratching leading to development to folliculitis. Folliculitis refers to bacterial infection of the hair follicles. Avoid using hair removal cream around your private parts since it will cause chemical burns or allergies. You can trim your hair in such areas. Local application of antibacterial ointment will reduce the symptoms. Antihistamines can be used to reduce the itching.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
