Hello,
Thanks for the query,
The main reason for bad breath is poor
oral hygiene . Due to poor oral hygiene plaque start accumulates on teeth and tongue , food debris along with bacterias get lodged in narrow spaces in oral cavities and produce bad breath .
Sometimes this plaque get converted into calculus and deposit on teeth even under the gums . Gums also get swollen .
The dryness of mouth is also due to infection in oral cavity .
I would suggest to :-
1 Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing twice a day .
2 Do antiseptic mouthwash (listrine) rinses twice a day .
3 Do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day .
4 Suck on sugar free mint candy .
5 Drink plenty of water.
Consult dentist for proper examination to rule out condition like oral thrush ,
periodontitis and other infection.
Dentist will perform complete oral prophylaxis ( scaling and curetage )
He/she may prescribe
oral antibiotics (
metronidazole) for 10 days and teach you a proper brushing technique .
Wishing you a good health.
Thank you
