Suggest Treatment For Itching On The Penile Shaft And Urethritis
I m uncircumcised and I have been itching on my penis. Also my urethra is swollen. It doesn t hurt when I urinate but my urine is not a steady stream towards the end and the beginning when I pee. It doesn t hurt when I ejaulate either I m very nervous I don t know what this is and I haven t had any problems like this before
It appears that you have been diagnosed to have an infection of Urethra (Urethritis).
There is no doubt that there is a high risk of this infection being transmitted to your female partner due to unprotected sex.
Please get your routine urine test, urine culture and swab test of urethral discharge done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Please take broad-spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.
Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report. Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician. Ensure to drink more water.
To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
