Suggest Treatment For Itching Throat And Cough

Hi dr. grief, regarding my throat, I cough when it is cold or breathe cold air, I have become very sensitive to irritants and it itches from top of throat down the sides and I cough. After I finish eating I tend to cough. It used to be a very dry cough, and now it sound as if I had phlegm in my throat. In the last few days I had a bit of pain inside and up my throat but it is gone. I had a very bad dry cough more than a year ago, doctors said it was viral, they gave me albuterol and I improved but the cough has became chronic now I think. I feel as if food stays there in my throat. I noticed that pressing my abdomen at the navel level, will make me cough as if I pushed something up.

Hi
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history.
These symptoms indicate chronic infection or inflammation of the throat in the form of pharyngitis or laryngitis and requires treatment by the antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for further treatment.

Hope this is helpful to you.
Please do write back to me for further questions.
