Hello,

You are suffering from itchy anus for a few months. It is not constant but quite frequent. Anus itching commonly occurs due to pruritis ani or pin worms manifestation. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are hemorrhoids, dermatitis, irritation from hygienic products, contact dermatitis, etc. Avoid wearing synthetic fabric, tight underwear/clothing, or pants as it can trap heat and moisture (sweat) around your anus, making itching even worse.

Take care of your hygiene, clean the area affected and private organs thoroughly and do not scratch. Wear cotton clothes that are loose fitting. You can apply zinc oxide ointment to keep skin dry and protected. To get rid of itching you can apply ointment hydrocortisone on the affected area. Cool compresses and calamine lotion can help to ease the discomfort.

Get clinically examined, if it is due to fungal infection, you will be treated with an oral course of anti fungal. Applying ointment clotrimazole may help. To confirm if you are affected with pinworms, do tape test on three consecutive nights and your treating doctor will be able to confirm by studying it under microscope that you have pinworm. You will be accordingly treated with a course of albendazole or mebendazole.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
