Suggest Treatment For Itchy Bumps On Perineum

I have noticed whitish raised ridges and non-uniformed bumps on perineum (sp?), skin ridge between vagina & anus. Pretty much with no symptoms other than itching which is how I discovered them. Have very dry eczema skin anyway. Is there anything I can put on this? Anything serious I should worry about?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my surgical experience, the itchy bumps on perineum between vagina and anus is suggestive of bacterial or viral infection most likely.

Though nothing to panic, it requires precise care and treatment, here are some best guidelines for you at present

- wear loose, clean, cotton inner wears
- two times bathing with sitz bath added epsom salt
- local application of polymycin or neomycin cream if no history of sensitivity
- drink plenty of liquids to prevent secondary urinary infection
- avoid sexual intercourse ( if active )
- antihistamine as diphenhydramine or Cetirizine for itching relief
- consult your doc for prescription of antibiotics or antiviral medications as per his or her clinical evaluation
- keep blood sugar under control to prevent any abscess formation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
