Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of itchy hives on body which occur when body give response to some external stimuli or some kind of allergen. Introduction of allergen to skin cause release of some chemical which make the skin to swell. Need not to worry. They are usually harmless until they cause problem like breathing problems, swallowing problems .I would suggest you to find out trigger factor as prevention of hives is the best thing one can do. Give cold compresses to reduce itchiness. You should give cold compresses several times a day. Consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe steroid therapy. Until then start taking antihistamine drug 'benadryl'
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
