My sister is 53 years old and has a rash which itches constantly, when she,s busy she doesn t notice it, she has had it approximately 4 months, she has had over the counter meds as well as perscription med it almost looks like shingles but it does not spread evenly. It seems to spread when she scratches

Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like contact dermatitis can be caused by coming into contact beauty products chemicals and poisonous plants , allergic reaction , side effects or certain medicines , sensitivity to sunlight , eczema and psoriasis . Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain proper personal hygiene , take zyrtec one a day and apply cold compresses to reduce the itchiness and inflammation . Consult dermatologist for proper examination Doctor may order skin patch test , blood test , test fro allergy and physical examination . Doctor may prescribe corticosteroid ointment , antibiotics , anti inflammatory and immunosuppressants .
