Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rash On Legs And Underarms

I had a rash, it appeared on my bottom, spread down my legs and then appeared on my underarms and elbows. I was prescribed triamcinolone acetonide and after a week, the rash went away, but I was still itchy. Now, two weeks later, the rash has come back on my arms. The doctor didn t know what it was and just prescribed a topical steroid, telling me that I might need to go to a dermatologist. But, I don t have health insurance and can t afford it for at least 3-4 weeks. I don t think I can wait that long! It itches very badly. It s not scaly and it s not raised either. What can I do? What could it be?

Hi,

Most possible diagnosis could be tinea infection. But there are many other possible diagnosis.

You could take an over the counter antihistamine tablet for itching. I request you to stop all the medications and to visit a dermatologist. He will examine you skin and confirm the diagnosis and will initiate the treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
