Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a colonoscopy n endoscopy on Thursday Friday afternoon I broke out in an itchy red sore rash on my cheek . Since I have rosacea on that cheek I assumed that the stress made it flair up . I took benedryl n some steroid Creme. It did stop the itching but nothing else . Sat (today) it continued n my Husband noticed that it s going down my neck too?? I m a type 1 diabetic too. What is it?
As per your query, you have symptoms of itchy rashes on the cheek which can occur due to our environment, heat and cold, sun exposure and bodies response to the trigger factor.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you give cold compresses to rashes several times a day to prevent from swelling and itching and take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. Stay in a cool environment. If symptoms still persist consult a dermatologist for proper examination and treatment. The doctor may perform skin test and challenge to find out the trigger factor. The doctor may prescribe other steroid creams (mometasone), anti-inflammatory drug or medications that can suppress the immune system.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
