Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes With Red Spots On Hairline And Forehead

I had a rash in my hair line in middle of forehead. Went to dermatologist and she really didn t know what it is. She game me a steroid shot and cream. The rash and redness is almost gone but the itch is awful. Got the shot four days ago. The itching is driving me crazy. I go back on Feb. 24, 2016. Any idea what it could be. Started out looking like broken blood vessels. Thanks! The spot is about the size of a quarter. I have some pin head size red spots as well. My entire forehead is itching now.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy rashes with red spots on hairline and forehead which seems to be due to contact dermatitis. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergic reaction, psoriasis , skin infection, fungal infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep your skin clean and dry , protect it from sun. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order certain test like skin patch test , blood test , allergy test and take history to rule out the side effects of certain drug . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment. Doctor may also prescribe antifungal like fluconazole or anti bacterial like clindamycin. You should apply only petroleum jelly and take antihistamine like benadryl twice a day. Avoid touching or pricking rashes.
