Suggest Treatment For Itchy Red And Swollen Rash On The Chest

I used Vicks vapour rub on my chest 3 days ago to relieve congestion. i now have a severe red swollen rash with small bumps and itchy. i have tried to use calamine lotion, allergex cream and nothing is working. i have applied baking soda and water and waiting to see if this helps, i has not yet in the past 2 hours ???? any advice please

Thanks for putting your query over here.
May I ask you if you have used the vicks vapourub for first time?Have you experienced such allergic reaction before?Some people with sensitive skin may get such allergic dermatitis.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend,
-Oral anti allergic drugs like cetrizine/loratidine
-Clean the area with soap and water.Local application of ice pack may help.But avoid using warm pack or warm water.Avoid hot bath over area.Dont use baking soda over it.
-Avoid using vicks vapourub or anything containing camphor menthol in future.For confirmation,patch test can be done before you use any such gel/ointment in future.
-In case you get fever,local altered sensation with fluid filled blisters,visit to physician immediately(to rule out alternate possibility of red blistery itchy skin).
