General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

A different type of antibiotic is likely needed because based on the history given, the symptoms are in keeping with a bacterial infection. The fact that it has spread to involve other persons also sounds like a bacterial condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
