Suggest Treatment For Itchy Skin Along With Pins And Needles Sensation

Hi, have been having problems with my skin. Very Itchy. Feels like hundreds of tiny needles poking me, especially when I m lying in bed at night with a t-shirt on. Seams of my t-shirt bother me alot. This has been going on for a few years now. Thought it was getting better this year until lately. Last few nights could not sleep! Tonight especially.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are different causes of generalized itching. They include: (1) infection such as scabies, this tends to be worse at night

(2)liver disease

(3)kidney disease

(4)side effect of medication

(5)thyroid disease

(6)neuropathy- nerve related disorders, diabetes

(7)iron deficiency

(8)rare cases- malignancy

To find the cause, if it continues, you would need to consider seeing your doctor for an assessment. This would include physical examination along with blood tests as well.
Bloods may be liver , kidney function, complete blood count, thyroid function levels.

These may not be necessary if there is an obvious cause.

I hope this helps
