Suggest Treatment For Jaundice Along With Pain In Buttocks Radiating To Ankles
Dear Doctor, My brother is suffering from jaundice & leg pain from upper part of buttocks till his ankle. He was in India for 2 months as he is a professional there due to excess heat it has increased. Pls do provide me a solution. Medication: 1. Ursokem 2. Al5zyme 3. Asidrop 4. Gemlov-RL (surup) 5. Livgeon (syrup) Food: He is having rice with yogurt, and he is consuming sugarcane juice and tender coconut. Yours sincerely.
The pain in the buttocks radiating on his ankle is suggestive of possible schiatica, which is a pinched nerve in the lumbar vertebral column. For this reason, I would recommend holding a lumbar brace and avoiding prolonged standing or sitting position. A lumbar spine CT scan or MRI would be needed.
Regarding jaundice, it is necessary investigate for the possible causes: billiary stones, an infection, a born metabolic defects, or chronic hepatitis. For this reason, I would recommend performing an abdominal ultrasound and blood lab tests for hepatitis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
