General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi, thanks for post, well i think that it is very soon for remission of jaundice, if it is the only cause of hemolysis (red blood cells destruction), that is the cause of the yellowish tone, I asume which every cause of jaundice had been discarded, hepatic, autoimmune, Rh related, etc. It is important to know what illnes as well as know that bilirrubin is toxic for nervous system, it can cause a very serius brain disease called kernicterus, that is the reason of treatment with phototherapy, ultraviolet rays transform billirubin into a harmless product, anyway you must follow all recommendations of your pediatrician, who will compare levels of bilirubin will examine your baby, make adjust in treatment if it's necessary and tell you about evolution. Returning to the question i think that is earlier to expect that jaudice dissapear. Thanks
