Suggest Treatment For Jock Itch While On Fluconazole
Hi, I have jock itch which is near the folds of thigh regions on both sides in small patches of red circles. Even the hips area around the anus too has the same symptoms of jock itch with itching. I have used Fourderm cream for a month now and even taken 3 or 4 tablets of Fluconazole in alternate days. The infection returns again after getting cured for some days. Please suggest me how to cure this permanently. Regards Tanmay
Remember that fungal infections(jock itch) require a lot of time to heal. And you must have patience to handle it. I would never suggest fourderm for a fungal infection in my patient. I would have prescribed clotrimazole(candid) ointment to be applied over the affected area for 4-6 weeks. And along with the above drugs I would have added fluconazole(Nuforce) 150mg once a week for 4 weeks if the infection was severe. You need to maintain high standards of personal hygiene if you don't want the recurrence of symptoms. Keep the affected area dry all the time. After bathing, wear clothes only after complete drying of the affected area. Do not use tight innerwears. Do not use wet clothes.
