Suggest Treatment For Knot On Thumb Joint After Injury
I hurt my thumb 3 weeks ago, had it xrayed, no break, but have a big knot on the outside of the lower joint....there is also a smaller knot on the top of the bending joint Any ideas what it might be? Is still very sore and sensitive to touch...My 150lb Berenese Mountain dog hit my thumb with his head as he jumped off the porch and I reached to pick up a piece of trash in the yard

Painful swelling on joint after trauma is likely to be due to hematoma. Hematoma usually resolve within few days of trauma. In the meanwhile, you can take pain killer to relieve the pain.
