Suggest Treatment For Lack Of Concentration And Focus With Involuntary Mumbling

I have troubles focusing on conversations. Whenever I read books or I m studying for something like a test I often have to read the question or the paragraph two or three times before I finaly understand it. When someone is having a seriouse conversation with me and something or someone is moving in the background my attention will be on that person or object for a few seconds and then I miss some of what that person said. I also have problems talking to people like my girlfriend parents but when I m with my friend I can talk just fine, and her parent think I am weird because I can t talk to them and it becomes awkward but when I do say something it s not much and I mumble without noticing. What is wrong with me? What are some things I can do to help with these problems I am having? Please help me this has become a real problem in my relationship and my life.
