Suggest Treatment For Large Blood Blisters On The Tongue
I am getting huge blood blisters the size of cherry tomatoes on my tongue and roof of mouth when eating. Can only eat very soft food. When blister breaks it leaves a very sore and 'raw' area with dead skin above. Any ideas? Would a course of steroids toughen up my oral skin?
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The blood blisters you are describing can be secondary to trauma to tongue and floor of the mouth, the other possible cause can be pemphigus or bullous pemphigoid. So nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take topical steroids like triamcinolone acetonide and topical analgesics like choline salicylate. Do saline gargling. if the lesion is recurring, then get a biopsy done to confirm the diagnosis and manage accordingly. I hope my answer will help you, take care.
