Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a large bruise on my arm and when you touch it you can feel the vein all swollen and hard. I am a baggage handler, so I assume blunt force trauma to my arm. It started of as a small bruise and small lump, however now is a larger bruise and harder in a larger area, also arm is a little swollen. Should I be concerned?
First I would suggest you to get ultrasound of the arm to confirm the diagnosis that it is a vascular tumor or the bursa. If it is proven that there is no vascular connection then it can be aspirated or excise. If on MRI it shows that it is a vascular tumor then you should meet a cardiovascular surgeon and get it operated. vascular tumor should not be handled by any junior surgeon.
