Suggest Treatment For Large Bruise On The Elbow With Itching And Burning Sensation
I have a large bruised-looking area inside and above my left elbow. A week ago it itched like an insect bite and the next day there was a hard lump and it felt hot. This went away in by 3 days then last night the same area is itching, burning, tender and swollen. This morning the arm hurts and there is redness and bruising. I have RH and am receive a high Remicade infusion every 6 weeks. Should I go to an urgent care center?

Your history of sudden appearance of bruise at elbow that started with bruising and itching, disappearance within 3 days but reappeared after three days is indicative of a FDR type reaction most probably to an insect bite.
Since you have RH and are on Remicade, you should consult a Doctor immediately for proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations to have preliminary symptomatic treatment like antihistamine and steroids and a specific treatment as per final findings.
Ultrasound of the lump will help to know whether there is any collection of fluid or pus, needed to rule out bursitis also.
Proper diagnosis is the key of successful management in such cases.
