Suggest Treatment For Large Lump On Forehead After Injury
Hello, my grandmother had an accident at work almost 2 weeks ago. She had hit the right side of her face into a metal pole and broke her hand after tripping over a piece of metal on the floor. She still has a a huge lump on her forehead above her eye and her nurse continually tells her everything fine and she should return to work this week. Is it normal to still have the huge lump? It s still very tender for her.
As per my clinical experience, the large lump on forehead after injury indicates hematoma formation. Following measures will help her for better recovery: - Local application of ice over the hematoma part 3 times a day - Control of blood sugar - Prescription of antibiotics such as penicillin or others anti-inflammatory medicines as Diclofenac, proteolytic enzymes such as serratiopeptidase or else
Be vigilant for its cure as many of the unresolved hematoma do require even procedure of incision and drainage.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
