My husband had a large tonsil stone. The doc could not dislodge it. Went on antibiotics and gargles with salt water, etc. 2 months later dentist finds lump. Cat scan shows growth in anterior tonsillar pillar. When we asked if mass could be giant tonsillith he laughed and said no - likely cancer. Now we have to wait another week for biopsy results and we are going crazy. Why can t the lump be the stone? It never popped out?
