Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had pain on my left side on and off for over a month, last week and a half the pain has been constant but goes when self medicates. I feel bloated and not had proper bowl movement for days. Pain goes from under left rib to pelvic bone and to left back, sometimes to right front as a shooting pain
There are few.possibilities for the pain. It may be a sore muscles especially if have any physical trauma to it like weight lifting or bad postures.
Other possiblity is if the pain is from kidney problem like stone, or infections. Nerve trapment may also cause shooting pain in the flank.
So it needs proper assessment including and ultrasound scan of the tummy for kidney. Once the cause is identified, management would be according. You may use some painkiller like ibuprofen or paracetamol for the while being.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
