Suggest Treatment For Leg Cramps At Night

Hello Dr. I am on my feet a lot during the day, I suffer from leg cramps all through the night and not getting a lot of sleep. I get myself out of bed and try to walk the cramps away, cramps do settle down but when I relax and get back into bed here comes the next round!! Can you give me any advise? Ruth

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear!

Thanks for consulting the Physicians at HealthCare Magic. I have worked through your case thoroughly, and I can easily realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon.
I refer you to consult your family physician because some tests are needed. Your physician will do the blood work for anemia and suggest treatment accordingly.
It seems more convincing that due to daily routine work you are having the issue aggravated. During the day do some stretch exercise just for a few seconds in between the work. Dont need to go somewhere. It will increase blood circulation and reduce pooling of blood in legs & reduce lactic acid accumulation too.
Start some physical activity on daily basis at least for 20 min. Brisk walk/jogging is best for you. But all after your blood work report. Once you get your CBC done You may also contact me back.

May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback to help us assist you in a better way. Click at 'I Find This Answer Helpful' and give Stars too. Write a review about your experience with me.

Regards!
