Hello,
Liver lesions means a group of abnormally grown cells forming a mass in the liver. A few probable causes are
alcoholism,
hepatitis due to viruses,
smoking, obesity, and birth control pills. Most of the liver lesions are benign meaning harmless, but some are cancerous.
If there are no symptoms like
abdominal pain,
bloating,
jaundice etc., you don't need to worry. In the above case, only the lesions should be monitored by scanning every year for any increase in size or change in texture in order to identify if they become cancerous. In most cases of benign lesions without symptoms, no treatment is necessary. If these are benign lesions with pressure symptoms like jaundice and pain, the lesions have to be removed.
If they turn out to be cancerous, they may need
chemotherapy and surgery. But please relax as in most of the cases no treatment is necessary as mentioned above. Still, if you have a doubt, you can request your doctor for a biopsy of the lesion and it's histopathology examination will confirm if it is cancerous or not. In my opinion, healthy lifestyle, avoidance of alcohol and smoking would help and the lesions are benign.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
