Hello, My husband's maternal uncle has been diagnosed with AML - M2. He has been hospitalized ever since.. He's platelet count has been fluctuating ever since which is being taken care of by his immediate family. Just today we were informed that he is down with fever and ever since hasn't passed urine. I just wanted to know if this kind of leukemia is curable and getting a temp during the treatment is normal?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. He has acute myeloid leukemia M2. It is curable. Treatment options are chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. Fever and low platelet count is very common in that. So consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
