Suggest Treatment For Lichen Planus Scars On Ankle, Shin, Forearm And Leg
Hello Doc. I am 29 yr old male. I am suffering from Lichen planus. Doctor have injected me a steriod which has reduced my itchiness and red spots. He has prescribed Betnovate-C cream. But my dark spots are not reducing. I have plenty dark spots on my ankle, shins, forearm and leg. Please suggest a good cream so that the spots lightens.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have lichen planus scars on ankle, shins, forearm and leg, as lichen planus is not an infectious disease, so it could be related to genetic factors . The disorder occurs when the immune system mounts an attack against cells of the for unknown reasons . Stress may be exaggerated factor and not a causative factor. There are limited treatment options for lichen planus . The symptoms may last for more then simple lichen planus and sometime go away after long period also but they also have tendency to develop into cancer. Tab dapsone 100 mg once daily at night. Avoid exposure to sunlight.You should apply apply emollient and clobetasol oint in mixture twice daily. Steroid drugs methotrexate. and vitamin supplement like folic acid are other treatment options. Tacrilimus is also known to be effective in lichen planus.
