Suggest Treatment For Lifting Of Fingernails From The Nail Beds
My fingernails are lifting from the nail beds. I ve seen 3 dermatologists and had biopsies taken. Was told not a fungus but really given no answer. Seven out of ten nails are affected. I slather neosporin under and around each nail every night to try and heal the tissue and keep them from being dry. I am a hair stylist and am in water alot, but always use non latex gloves when using chemicals. Please help me find an answer and a remedy to these unsightly and tender nails.... I ve been dealing with this for about three or four years now. Thank you, Joann
It is difficult to judge without seeing them. Particularly the shape of the nails and the color are two of several factors that point to particular diseases. I cannot say in your particular case, however, thin and splitting nails indicate a nutritional deficiency. There's a lot but plain not enough food is one. lack of iron, or most vitamins are another. Vitamin C from fresh fruit would be an interesting vitamin deficiency that is quite rare now but specifically causes loss of nails. Deformity of the fingers can occur due to poor circulation which also does not help nail growth.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
