My daughter is 35. I recently noticed her lips quivering...not sure that is he word. Just every once in a while. I thought maybe it was just a nervous action. Someone at her work noticed it and confronted her. Could it be a thyroid problem, I guess she should contact her doctor right?
Twitching of lips is quite common. Most of time it is idiopathic, which means without any obvious cause. It is due to the irritation of nerves supplying the muscles. For hyperthyroidism there should be other symptoms like palpitations, tachycardia, sweating, insomnia etc..
