Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My dad has been diagnosed with liver and bile duct cancer but dr is saying his biopsy on both are inconclusive. His cancer markers are over 17,000. Now has to see oncology dr but still are not sure if it is liver cancer or liver failure due to biospsy not clear. Any advice to find out what is wrong and what stage his cancer maybe in? Also his Billrubin is very high Thank you
It there is jaundice and high tumor markers we can take it as positive and start appropriate treatment.
Consult a gastro surgeon and he will direct you accordingly. At first you can opt for steering to bring down the jaundice and definitive surgery later.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
