Suggest Treatment For Liver Cirrhosis With Mouth Bleed
my brother is 32 year of age and suffered from liver cirrohossis (alcohol) his health is getting down day by day and looks under serious condition. Blood coming from his mouth 2 times. He has gone for binding two times. Can you help me in knowing you have treatment for this disease.
Hello welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.
The vomited blood from cirrhosis could be because of esophageal varices condition. For that sclerotherapy or banding can be beneficial. Treat portal hypertension with beta blocker. If you are having edema formation than diuretic can be prescribed. TIPSS like less invasive procedure helpful in reducing portal hypertension. Ultimate treatment for cirrhosis is liver transplant. I suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for examination.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
