my daughter is 9 and was just tested for long qt syndrome. her vent rate:79 --DURATIONS-- QRS;72MS, --INTERVALS--RR:759MS PR:128MS QT:360MS QTC:393MS QTD:36MS --AXES-- P:41 QRS:105 T:69 ---pediatric criteria used--- sinus arrhythmia,rightward axis its shows borderline ecg unconfirmed analysis. should I be worried?
As per my clinical experience, there are various reasons for long QT syndrome in a child of 9 years as: - Congenital anomalies as Jervel and Nielsen syndrome, Romano ward syndrome - Electrolyte disturbances for secondary long QT - Side effect of certain medications
Once confirmed as the diagnosis, management guidelines consist of beta blocker as prime therapy and supportive medications as per the clinician concern.
