Hi & Welcome.
First of all I would like to tell you to give medications to your baby without consulting a pedia doctor.

Powergyl Suspension contains Metronidazole and Norfloxacin.

Because of its high risk of cartilage damage and tendon ruptures, FDA did not approve Norfloxacin in children.

So, it is not safe to given Norfloxacin to your 2 years old child.

As far as Metronidazole is concerned , the dose 30 mg/kg/day to be given in 3 divided doses/day.

Usually I do not advise antibiotics for young children with loose stools unless there is evidence of bacterial/protozoal infection by doing a stool test.

For such cases, I would prescribe electrolyte solution (eg electrobion, pedialyte), probiotics, zinc supplements and racecadotril.

And for the symptomatic relief of fever, Paracetamol syrup may be given 15 mg/kg three to four times a daily along with cold sponges.

Young children are more prone for dehydration if they have loose stools & if proper fluids and electrolytes are not given.

So the first step is to assess the hydration. If the urine output is low, the baby is less active or drowsy or if the baby is having persistent vomiting, take the baby to the hospital immediately.

Hope the advice given above would be useful.

Best wishes.
