Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My wife takes warfarin. Unfortunately due to overeating eating ( Noodles with vegetables + chicken ) and Chicken with red kidney beans + rice she is having dysentary since morning today. In a time span of 6 hours she has been to the restroom fourteen times.
Since she is taking warfarin we cannot give her normal medication.
Surely yes, you cannot give some medicines when your wife is on Warfarin.
But do many loose stools in such a short span of time needs her to be shifted to hospital for proper clinical evaluation, examination and detailed investigations of stool, blood and urine; also needed is to do INR status as she is taking Warfarin medicine.
Further management should be done as per the clinical presentation, lab reports and her response to treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
