Suggest Treatment For Loose Motions In A Child
Hi Doctor, I am Harish Gupta. My brother s son is 2 months old. The baby is suffering from loose motions. Baby is not breast fed as his mother is getting the milk. He has almost lost 1 Kg of his weight because of loose motions. Now the baby is admitted at the hospital and he is fed with powder milk. Even then he is suffering from loose motions. Can you please suggest what can be done to cure the baby?

Hello,
It may be due to gastrointestinal infection. For that, he may require antibiotics like metrodizonol after pediatrician consultation. For further assessment, he may require complete heamogram, stool culture. Till then keep him well hydrated, continue ORS and econorm sachet.
