Pediatrician, Surgery 's  Response
Hello,

Your child has neurogenic bladder with loss of control of urine. It is usually seen after surgery for the spinal cord (meningomyelocele). While it is not completely reversible, a lot of measures are available to make the child dry and keep him comfortable.

It needs detailed evaluation - ultrasound, MCU (micturating cystogram) and urodynamic study. Following this medication may be started, or self intermittent catheterization taught. You will need to consult a pediatric surgeon who will help you out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antony Robert Charles
