Hello,
Lisinopril is a good medication to use with congestive
heart failure because it has been shown to improve the function of the heart over time.
Usually an
ACE inhibitor like lisinopril is started first, and then a
beta-blocker medication is added to further help the heart.
These medications can lower the blood pressure, but as long as the systolic blood pressure (the top number) is above 90, I would usually continue it, UNLESS you were having side effects, in which case it would mean you are not tolerating it and it should be decreased.
So in summary, your blood pressure alone would not necessarily lead me to decrease the lisinopril, but if you are very tired with that blood pressure, I think I would decrease it. Lowering it to 5 mg would be reasonable to see if that helps.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
