Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my grand daughter 8th grade passed out at school today they went to a clinic and determined she had a low blood count. This occurred once before around 3 years of age. Her skin was extremely white and her white cell count was extremely large at that time they tested for leukemia but it was negative Is this something to be concerned about again
High leukocyte count can be from acute inflammation as well as in infection. So acute infection might be the reason at that time for high count. Now your total count is low as per history. Temporary viral infection can suppress bone marrow and so count can be low. Mention your clinical complaint so that we can think further for your condition.
