Suggest Treatment For Low Grade Fever, Fatigue And Chills

My son is 17 years old. He has had a low grade fever on and off since last Monday (1 week). He s gone back and forth from normal to a temperature of 99.2. A couple of times he s had typical symptoms of a fever with some minor fatigue and chills and he s also felt like the fever has broken a couple of times waking up warm and sweating. Today he again has the minor fever of 99.2 after sweating last night like his fever broke.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have low grade fever, fatigue and chills . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like sinusitis , lyme disease , mononucleosis , aseptic meningitis and tuberculosis . The symptoms can also occur due to viral infection . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor will check vitals , take history and order blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe anti viral like acyclovir along with anti pyretic and multivitamin supplement . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist or chest specialist if the problem will be due to sinusitis or tuberculosis .
