Suggest Treatment For Low Grade Fever, Loss Of Appetite And Lethargy
My father in law has been having low grade fever(98F) for over a month with weight loss, loss of apetite and lethargy. Blood culture, Malaria, Typhoid,Dengue negative. Normal CBC. Urinalysis normal. What could be the reason for this? How should we go ahead as there is just antibiotic prescribed without any further tests.
If your father in law is having low grade fever (more than 99 F) almost continuously than get his CRP, 2 hour ESR, Liver Function Tests and Peripheral Smear done. I also advise his x-ray chest pa and USG Abdomen to rule out Infection like Tuberculosis and any malignancies. There is definite need for further investigation to rule out chronic infection and new growth.
