Suggest Treatment For Lower Abdominal Pain And Cramps
have been having stomach cramps for †he past five hours; started in lower abdomen; have had two previous surgeries for intestinal blockage---one in 1987 and one in 2007; lots of scar tissue---pain when I press on scar tissue and pain when I press navel. pain is lessening but I now feel pain in upper chest right below rib cage
The pain you are referring to under rib cage seems to be passing gas. As you already had two previous surgeries for intestinal blockage, then, you might suffer another blockage the same now. So, better check with surgeon to rule intestinal blockage (obstruction) out. Another possible explanation is passing excess gas through the scarred intestines. Again, checking physically with surgeon is a must as the pain is going on for a few hours now and I think gas is stuck.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
